Antonietta Collins

Antonietta Toni Collins (born in Mexico) is the Mexican American sportscaster. She works for ESPN and is a SportsCenter News Anchor. She began her career at ESPN in the year of 2016. Her mother is the reporter for television Maria Antonieta Collins. Antonietta Collins has been a bilingual since she was nine years old. It was a helpful skill that helped her secure her first position as a production assistant with Univision in Miami and allowed her to be a part of the production team for national programs such as Nuestra Belleza Latina, Premios Lo Nuestro Premios Juventud and Primer Impacto. Then she was promoted to reporter for The CBS St. Petersburg affiliate in the following year. Then she moved into Rio Grande Valley in 2009 as a reporter for KNVO TV 48 Univision. Spanish stations KNVO TV 48 Univision, as well as Fox2 News. She covered stories about illegal immigration as well as drug trafficking throughout Texas as well as Mexico. The family moved in 1992 to Mexico to the US and eventually settled in Miami. In 1992, her parents separated then shortly thereafter in 1995 she was remarried Fabio Fajardo, a naval engineer who died in 2006 after suffering from kidney cancer. In the summer in 2006 she spent one week with her sibling at Canton Ohio. The older Collins girl was working there. Antonietta who was in high school with an idea of what she would like her life to be, visited Mount Union University in order to find out whether the university was suitable for her. As it turned out she was a fan of the university and the university offered the kind of program she was searching for. After completing her studies, she was admitted to the university as a major studying media and communication studies. Mark Bergmann was her professor and also the head of WRMU, of which she's a member. They developed a close connection. Mark Bergmann was the person who instilled her confidence and whose passion for Journalism deeply touched her. As a result, she determined to meet his demands and never let him down.
